TEAM BUILD DESCRIPTIONS

 1) BA TEAM - ENCHANTED FOREST ADVENTURE

The BA Team has constructed a challenging activity called the ENCHANTED FOREST ADVENTURE in and amongst the pine trees of the Tokai Forest bordering The Range.

Depending on the size of group additional activities can either be added or deleted due to time constraints. The activities are preceded by warm up events to get groups limbered up and in the right frame of mind. The facilitation can either be fun or training based depending on your preference.

The ENCHANTED FOREST ADVENTURE combines all elements of team building. Groups must work as one in order to achieve the goal of completing this course. The course consists of low wire, mental, trust, communication, challenge and shared experience.

Additional add on activities:

Can of the best
This is a lateral thinking exercise, forcing groups to outperform themselves and think out of the box, more then they ever expected to. All just to get one drum balanced.

Ant Trap
This is a fun and innovative way to get groups to work together and commit to challenges. Lots of humour and engineering skills required. It’s all got to do with who will build the ultimate ant trap.

Tyre shuffle
Tool to facilitate the quest for excellence. Lots of thinking, planning and organizing, but all this would leave you nowhere if you struggle to delegate and implement.

Barrel placement
A challenging look at teams are capable of doing when they put their mind to it. Groups are required to build the ultimate barrel-moving tool that will operate under specific conditions, while coping with the ultimate lack of building supplies.

Mine field
Superb for communication and understanding meaning behind viewpoints. Groups are to navigate a minefield set out by the facilitators, without seeing the map for yourself.

Red and green
An exceptional tool in demonstrating the results of competition and unity. A card game is played in which 4 groups play to receive a positive score.

Board puzzles
The challenge that sees more groups fail, than any other activity. All groups need to do is to reconstruct a puzzle, but lack of planning and innovative thinking take its toll.

Blindfold football
A hilarious event in which to groups competes in a game of soccer, blindfolded. The spectators/ guides are however not so blind, and just when you start to believe it cannot get any worse, you change places.

Helium pole
The activity that forces you to take responsibility, with a result you will never believe.

Pipe build
Each team member has a short half pipe that must keep joining it to his fellow members pipe in order to transport a valuable ball from the start line to its final destination. In the process the ball may not be touched or dropped. It may only have contact with the pipe otherwise the team must start from the beginning, or time penalties will be awarded.

Electric loops
Select members from your team that will best fit through the electric loops without touching otherwise your team will be electrified by being awarded time penalties (not really electrocuted).
The rest of the team members will be expected to help their fellow members through the loops, but also not being able to touch the electric loops.
The objective is to beat your opposing team on time from start to finish.

Ski racing
The object of this game is to move an entire group from one point to another, either on a time trial or racing against another group.
Group sizes can vary from 4-10 people.
Each group has one set of skis that allows up to a maximum of 10 participants. Standing on the set of ski’s each individual has his/her own rope that allows them to hold on the skis with their left hand with their left leg standing on the left ski and visa versa. The whole idea is for the team to communicate in order to move forward by walking on the skis. If you master that then try walking backwards.

Within this Team build rate and at no additional charge, photos are taken of your team during the Team building activities and are burnt onto CD’s in a Power Point format & each member of the team receives one.

 2) AFFORDABLE ADVENTURES

- Survivor challenge as seen on TV

 3) ACTION PAINTBALL GAMES

• Standard half day social game
• Structured Team Build followed by “Survive and Thrive Seminar”

What is Survival/Paint ball Games?
The easiest way to describe the game is to think of it as being much the same as any other team sport. Two teams oppose one another on a sports field. They play against one another until a goal is scored or time runs out.

Now how does Survival/Paint ball games differ from other sports?
A paint ball field is not a flat surfaced rectangle. A paint ball field can be virtually any piece of terrain that has reasonably good bush cover and broken ground. The average size of a field is 120 meters by 100 meters. This means that players are often not in visual contact with one another and therefore have to actively work hard to maintain communication between team mates.

Players wear coloured tags to indicate which team they are on. Each team has a base flag and a “steal” flag placed at their end of the field. The objective of the game is to cross the field, remove your opponents “steal” flag and return it to your own base without being hit by a paint ball.

This sounds fairly simple until you take into account that all the participants are carrying an air powered gun that shoots bio degradable 16mm paint balls up to thirty meters distant. In effect, players have the ability to tackle opponents within a radius of thirty meters. A player who is marked by a paint ball bursting on him / her must indicate that s/he has been hit and leave the field of play thus conceding a tactical advantage to the opposing team.

Add to this the fact that the terrain is often used by players to conceal them and you being to understand the need for the individual and teamwork characteristics required getting a team across the field of play intact. Team communication and rapid decision making are vital to a team’s successful participation in the game.

Team sizes vary from tournament level 5 and 10 side teams to any number you care to mention. The extreme is a world record twenty-four hour game, which had 3 500 players on a field covering thirty odd hectares.
Players wear special designed paint ball facemask's to protect the face and eyes from the paint balls.

 4) GIANT FOOSBALL

Giant Foosball comprises of an inflatable perimeter wall and goal posts. Various games are available which are suitable for both big and small groups. Players have to be physically capable, however fitness is not a pre-requisite. The different games we are able to organise all provide great fun for both the players and spectators while they build relationships and learn to interact with each other as a team.

· Giant Foosball: Players are able to only move from side to side and they are attached to each other. The teams have to overcome their restrictions by synchronising their movements. Teamwork is essential to get to the ball and to pass the ball between team members while trying to score a goal.

· Blind Ball: Half the team is able to see they are not allowed to touch the ball. The sighted players have to direct the blindfolded players as they try and score a goal. Clear communication, trust and support are a couple of key elements that become apparent as the teams start to play.

· Giant Marbles: The Goon is placed in the middle of the field the teams objective is to knock the Goon to the opposition’s side while standing outside of the field using only the balls provided. Patience, persistence, strategy and adaptability are essential.

If you are able to lift a shotgun to your shoulder, you can play. In each round up to FIVE people shoot at the same target , launched from a conventional clay launcher. There are four different levels of the game testing your speed and/or skill.

For relaxation after a long day in conference try the night-shoot with luminous clay pigeons.
